Beach BBQ, Belize Film Festival!

We have had a great week here! What rainy season?? It rained for about 3 days on and off last week but it has been hot and beautiful since Tuesday. Tom, Kate and Madalyn have been BUSY! Tom has scuba dived twice, and the group went snorkeling to Silk Caye. They highly recommended that excursion. They saw turtles, swam with sharks and rays, and had a great time. They have gone to a few dinners and loved Dulce Vita tonight. Tom also went to the fish co-op and made lobster tails the other night! We were able to borrow a grill and had our first beach barbecue :) Tom made lionfish, grouper cheeks (?), and the tails--he and Kate run Kate's fish at the West Side market in Cleveland and they were shocked at the cheap prices and good fish at the co-op. Another recommended activity :) Here are a few pics:

Here we are last night, the group had just gotten back from snorkeling...we headed to Robert's Grove for the Belize Film Festival. I was really impressed by what they did! Imagine a huge screen right on the beach....very comfortable lounge chairs in the sand...good food, fun people!! They even set up a red carpet for pictures :) I was sad I only had flip flops to wear with my dress. I didn't foresee any dressing up here :)
 Lounging at the festival!

 Our pretty friends down here!
I also had to throw in a couple pictures of the beach this was spectacular!

Tomorrow, Dave and I start the day meeting two Placencia students who we will be mentoring this school year! Rotary gives scholarships to students who qualify and then Rotary members help mentor their progress during the year. We are very honored to be involved!

Then we go on a 42 foot catamaran for a day of sailing, fishing, and snorkeling with Belize Sailing Charters! Our captain will be Michelle (a male) and the boat is called Moonshine :). So far the group includes Dave and I, Kate, Madalyn, and Tom, and Gari and Hayley. I think there will be a number of great stories and pictures tomorrow :) Then we get our bamboo delivered Sunday to finish the casita!
